I recently meandered across country to return home to Minnesota after an extended stay in New Mexico and Arizona. As I like to do, I mostly stayed off the interstate highways and drove secondary roads to see what I could discover along the way. I found an interesting bridge near the town of Canadian, Texas. It’s an old wagon bridge spanning the Canadian River that has been restored and is now a pedestrian bridge which is part of a larger hiking trail. I was intrigued by the geometry of the steel girders and the shadows cast on the walkway. I’ve posted a couple of shots here along with the sign explaining the history of the bridge. Just one of the many interesting discoveries one can make on the byways of America.
