Though the sun is shining again and the snow is melting we did go through a rather intense blizzard here in southeast Minnesota over the last few days. As it was raging, I noticed that an interesting pattern of snow was collecting on my front window pane. I took some pictures and the original that I decided to work with is shown below.

After cropping and some enhancements in Photoshop I created the pattern shown at the top. I kind of liked it so I uploaded it to my Spoonflower shop where it can be see here. Not a bad way to spend some time when it was pretty much impossible to go anywhere.
This brought back some memories of past fascinations with snow and frost patterns as they accumulate on windows. The photo below is one I took some years ago when I lived in Maine. It was out my front window and I always liked this shot not just for the intricate frost patterns but also the abstract bluriness of the birch trees in the background.

Keep looking for beauty and things you find interesting wherever they might be.
